Exploring South Bank in Brisbane (09.09.08)

(The view from our balcony)
We wasted half of the day sleeping, then got up and had breakfast at McDonalds at the Brisbane Transit Centre across the street. We wandered the streets and ended up crossing the river to South Bank. We saw some cool buildings, fake giant dinosaurs and a ferris wheel before we went down to a footpath underneath a structure covered in beautiful flowers. We came to another one of Hanne's socalled manmade fakelakes, which is a fake public beach were you can go swimming. There is actually a lifeguard on duty there. The area is very pretty, with sand, water and palm trees. We walked some more, saw some freaky birds (they are!) and went back again. We ate some fancy crepes with strawberries, whipped cream, melted chocolate and ice cream at a crepe house. We saw a guy with a t-shirt saying "I'm here, where are the other two wise men?" We went back to Abbey Apartments, hanged out and then tried to order food around 10pm. Apparently, Australia closes early. We (after some time) managed to locate a pizzaplace that was still open, and ordered food. I managed to say to Hanne that I had to start writing things down as I was already starting to disremember. Hanne managed to misinterpret Pirates of the Caribbean as Pirates of the Scary Bean. Funny.
