Our first day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (04.09.08)

We arrived at the aiport in Kuala Lumpur at 6.20 am, and it was all dark. We actually had to take a train to get to the baggage reclaim, which was quite nice as we were very sleepy. We were met outside the airport by some malaysian guy with a bus, and we jumped in and headed for KL. The air was warm and humid outside, and uncomfortably cold inside. That's apparently how they like it in Malaysia. I saw my first ever forest of palm trees on the way to the hotel, which was neato. We arrived at the Swiss Garden Hotel too early to check in, so we hanged out in the hotel bar and got complimentary guava juice. After checking in (we got a room on the 7th floor), we went to sleep. And we slept. And slept. We were planning to get up at 4pm, but ended up waking up at 7pm. We had finally caught up on 3 days of sleep, but had lost most of our first day in KL. We went to the hotel restaurant and ordered dinner. Being quite tired and unfocused, we figured that to get the prices in NOK we had to divide 1 ringgit (RM) by 2 (or really 1.70). We had an incredibly cheap dinner. Later, we discovered it was actually the other way around; we had to multiply it by 2. The dinner was still cheap tho. As it had gotten quite late, we explored the hotel and went back to the room. We ended up watching The Nightmare Before Christmas before going to sleep (again). I did not fall asleep until 4am because of my coughing tho, which was not very nice :(
