OK, I'll try, even though it will probably kill me.
Friday we had a day off from school. Plan was to do school work. Julie has chosen Multiculturalism for her minor assignment, and I've chosen to compare and contrast two films about Australian culture.
Hanne: Julie! Did you do something on Friday?
Julie: Eh.. No. Not really.
Hanne: What did you do on Saturday then?
Julie: Hmm, what did we do on Saturday. We were meant to write the assignment.. Was that the day you went to Garden City?
Hanne: Yes. So, what did you do?
Julie: Watched TV?
So Saturday I went to Garden City to try and find one of the films. Went to the local library at the mall (that's a really neat idea, having a library in the mall), and would you believe it, they had the films! (Do you really think I get them? Naïve kid..) "To rent at this library, we need photo ID" check.. "And your home stay address" check... "On an official document" A whatnow? "Yeah... like, if you don't have one.. You could always mail an envelope to yourself.. " I guess I wouldn't be able to lend books today then..... "No."
So yeah, who needs libraries when there are DVD's to be bought, money to be spent and more places to visit? Went to Borders (fantastic book/DVD store with a coffee shop in the middle.... and a little guy handing out peach/mango drinks in between bookshelves.. I didn't know whether to love it or be dead scared for the sake of all the books.. ) But they didn't have any of the films there either.
I'm really just ranting, point is, I went to HMV, bought one of the films there (Why didn't I go there first?). Went home, saw it, wrote some stuff, went to bed insanely early.
Which in turn lead to Julie and I waking up insanely early. I woke up at six, got up at 7.50, and Julie got up around 8.20. We both had a shower, ate brekkie, got on a bus, then another bus, arrived in Balmoral 1.5 hours prior to our lunch engagement with Lesley Jolly. Spent some of the time walking (had gone off far away from where we should have), bought short-bread men, mud cake and curry pie (Julie got an apple turnover) ((I can't believe this is in any way interesting to anyone, but Julie and I have grown into an habit (although less frequent than before) of documenting various parts of our life... ))
*end of random rant*
(or one could hope..)
Meeting Lesley again was nice, I fell in love with her study and her Terry Pratchett's. We ate kangaroo (don't kill me Hanne E), and generally had a nice BBQ. We had a stroll in the neighbourhood, buying our first ice cream for the whole trip! Julie got banana flavoured, and I got Ferrero Rocher flavoured ice cream with marshmallows inside :P They mix ice cream and candy... Can it be better?
Took the CityCat for the first time (to South Bank). It was nice :) (a lot of rich people are living on the riverbank.... We saw some pretty neat boats and houses)
And yeah, we took the bus home, ate weird, but good, food, and spent the rest of the day trying to figure out where we're supposed to stay for 36 nights that we haven't planned yet....
Any random people out there have a bench to spare? ;D
