With the travel of course. Japan wouldn't have been if it hadn't been for the journey taking us there. We started out early and got picked up by the bus at 6 a.m. We arrived safely at the airport, went through all the hassle, exchanged some money, and our plane left at 8.55. Julie and I both had a great time on the plane, she had a three-seater and I had a four-seater (people don't dare to sit near me..). Julie slept a lot, played Sudoku, took a lot of pictures and ate mashed potatoes with chopsticks, and I listened to a lot of music and just simply enjoyed myself, and yeah, I slept as well :P
We landed at 4.30 p.m. local time (1 hour time difference) and I'm sad to say we had some trouble at the airport. We were stopped at the immigration, passport control and customs, because we didn't have an address in Japan or a Japanese phone number. As we were meeting our (whatever you call your Japanese-living-in-Norway working-at-your-school-but-not-your-teacher travel companion) Tengyo Kura outside the airport, and since we still didn't even know what hotel we where staying at, and since our phones doesn't work in Japan..... let's just say, the Japanese were not to keen on letting us into their country.
But the Norwegian gang had already invaded Malaysia and Australia and weren't about to be stopped by the Japanese. After all, they hardly reach us to our knees anyways.
So we got out and met Tengyo (the only normal-sized Japanese in existence) and after taking all of our passports (obviously to sell them on the streets) he went with us to our hotel for the night. We checked in, and as Julie has written in her notes (which I follow to the dot) states: We checked in, weird toilets, weird 7 Eleven, went out for dinner in Ginza district, had food in a tiny place, went home, showered, went to bed.
End of day 1!
