Day 2 in Hiroshima, Part 1: Peace Memorial Park

Waking up well and rested at eight, I walked for an hour in the neighborhood. We were supposed to find breakfast ourselves this morning, but I couldn't find any cafe's. Japan only has vending machines on every corner instead. So I meet a nice lady at a vending machine and bought a Fanta Grape (just to try, it wasn't too bad, but then again, not too good either..)

Five to nine I ran over to the 7/11 and bought breakfast, we all met at nine, and walked to the Peace Memorial Museum. We had a lecture by the director of the museum, Mr. Koichiro Maede, where he stressed the importance of peace and the end of all research, testing and usage of atomic bombs. After our lecture and discussions, we grouped into fours and fives and met our designated guides for the Peace Memorial Park. Julie and I ended up in different groups, so we got to see different things. Julie toured around with Trine, Bård and Martin, and I walked around with Steffen, Vilde and Janne.

The two pictures above show the hypocenter of the Hiroshima A-bomb
