Disneyland! (05.11.08)
Today started really crappy. You would never have guessed by reading the title, would you? We had to meet in the lobby at 5.30am to go to the fish market. I woke up with a migraine, so I didn’t go (maybe not so crappy afterall?). Hanne went, and I slept. I got up and went up to the 25th floor to have breakfast. Late last night, after having gone to bed, I had realized that I had heard that there was a Disneyland in Tokyo. I asked some of the other people in my class if they were interested in going, and some of the were. Yay! 45 minutes later, we met up in Christine’s room, and headed towards Disneyland. Mikal had been to the information desk and acquired a how-to-get-to-Disneyland-using-the-railway-map, so we followed him to Shinjuku station. Hanne had made it back from the fishies just in time to tag along, and we ended up being ten people going: me, Hanne, Christine, Mikal, Stine, Siri, Monica, Tiril, Sandra and Ann-Helen. We managed to buy the right tickets, switch lines and make our way through Tokyo to Maihama station, where Disneyland is right next to. We were all quite excited, bought our tickets and we were in Disneyland! It has pretty much the same layout as the one in Paris, but with some different names, and a whole lot more souvenirshops than attractions. The attractions were really quite lame compared to pretty much any other attraction I have ever taken, so my conclusion is that Japanese people must be sissies. We took all the big ones, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain(where we appropriately enough got totally splashed), Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain (without launch and loops - lame), Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters and the Microadventure. The latter one was the most surprising one, as it was really cool. You get 3D glasses and get shrunk to tiny size. Also, they splashed you with water (Malle: like in Cinemagique) and apparently there were ‘mice’ accidentally released in the audience, and suddenly things were scratching against your feet etc. Creepy! But we had a lot of fun!
