Future Island (06.11.08)

We met up at 9am and took some trains to Future Island, which is an area in the city which is the technology hub. We went to Miraikan first, which is the National Museum of Emerging Science.
Enthusiasm!

We didn’t have much time, but we got to see a demonstration of Asimo, the robot. Kjell & Tengyo

Whaaat? It can't be!
It is.

We went to a mall where they also have the largest indoor amusement park, as well as restaurants and shops. We had some free time to look around, which Hanne and me used to eat lunch at an Italian restaurant, and do some shopping. We went back to the train station, where we split up. Those of us who were too tired to do anything went back to the hotel (me included), those of us who wanted to do more shopping went to Harajuku, and those who wanted to go skinnydipping at the hot springs went there (Hanne included). Those who wanted to go skinnydipping

I spent the rest of the day packing my things and preparing stuff to post tomorrow, and writing blogposts, and Hanne still hasn’t come back, so I don’t know how the hot springs went.

Random things to see at Future Island:

Hanne: Well Julie, the hot springs where amazing, you should thoroughly regret not coming with us. We ended up being four girls and four guys going to the Japanese baths, which includes bathing naked (no unisex), but listen, it includes bathing in a ton of different baths, hot and cold, steam baths, massage baths, you name it. I introduced Anna, Iselin and Marieke to Doctor Fish, which was as hilarious now as it was the first time I tried (in Malaysia with Julie). And for those of who who do not remember, Doctor Fish is just a huge amount of little fish eating your feet. It tickles!
