Glad we're far away (random days in Vanuatu)

Day 2 was wholly spent at the hotel. When you see the pictures you realize there is no reason to leave it. We had good food, good weather (some rain but who cares in 30 degrees?), and not to say the least, free movies in our room. I will not tell you how many movies we saw during our week.

But, we did other stuff as well. School-stuff. Many days in a row went by with tables filled with paper, paper, paper, the occasional freshly-squeezed lime juice, paper, paper and more paper. Yes, we got sympathetic looks from other guests. (Although, I guess there will be none of those from you back home... I hear it's snowing?)

And speaking of extreme weather: Brisbane experienced the worst storm in ages while we were gone. People died, 3000 homes got wrecked and prime minister Kevin Rudd has ordered 25 million dollars to go getting Brisbane back on track. The beautiful City Cats that run in the Brisbane river were stopped for a week due to the amount of debris floating in the water. A rail station in Ipswich (just outside Brisbane) is missing its rail way tracks, and while you mention it, the station is not there anymore either.
