Thursday Part 2: Visiting a Japanese family in Hiroshima

Julie and I visited the Mitzoue family: Neurosurgeon Tatsuya and his homestay wife Maki, and they children, Tubash (12 yrs), Nozomi (9 yrs) and Ai (6 yrs). They all spoke very little English, but it was not awkward at all because they were so nice and welcoming, and the children liked playing around :P I tried origami for the first time, and didn't do too horribly... Okey, I probably did. But it was fun trying :P

They served us sliced tomatoes with cheese (first time I've eaten tomatoes since Kanaan), salads, creamy baked potatoes and food in a very fancy boiler-thingy. (Okey, that needs explanation. In Japan, they have a tendency to boil food-stuff while you eat, so that you never boil more than you need. I can't think of the name of the thing, but Julie said it boils stuff, so it must be a boiler.. Right?)

Being there was lovely in every way, it was kind of like going home :)
